When was the last time you saw a Vauxhall Nova Sport? The answer is probably not recently, owing to their scarcity. A limited run of only 502 were ever created in 1985, so a mint condition example in the 21st century is a needle in a haystack.
Fear not retro 80’s hot hatch fans, as one has just popped up on the Bay of E. It comes fully restored (in 2002) and comes with a free USB stick, documenting every moment of this process.
Was this the one that got away?
Well if it was, then it may just continue to get away. Not because of the feisty 1300cc engine, more so the astronomical price tag. Had this belonged to Vauxhall themselves, the sale alone would have caused GM to reconsider the brand’s recent sale to PSA.
At almost £66,000, insanity only skims the surface. The mind boggles as to how this modified Nova, albeit a bloody rare one, could command as much money as a small flat in the Midlands.
With two days until bidding commences, the inflation is likely to continue. So if you’re in the market for a factory suped-up Nova and you find your bank balance rivalling Donald Trump, place your maximum bid right away!
